Saints Foundation celebrated its Second Annual Saints Celebration Black Tie Gala, truly a most wonderful and successful event, on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place. Nearly 800 people attended, including members of our Board of Trustees, many physicians, hospital senior managers, directors, staff and hundreds of friends and supporters of the hospital.

The evening included a cocktail reception on the fourth floor atrium with a Caribbean steel pan trio prior to entering the adjacent Grand Ballroom for the evening celebration. Remarks from Saints Foundation President Michael J. Kuenzler, Special Advisor and former Chairman, George D. Behrakis, Chairman John P. Dolan, Guest Speakers, Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis, Shannon Allen, wife of Celtics Great Ray Allen, and co-owner of the Boston Celtics, Stephen Pagliuca, who spoke about the importance of charities through foundations, focusing on the critical role that non-profits play in the success of community hospitals.Following a fabulous dinner of Brandt Farms Braised Beef with Maine Lobster, and a dessert combo of Triple Chocolate Tower and Pumpkin Cheesecake with Salted Pumpkin Seed Bark, guests danced until midnight to the sounds of the very talented and dynamic band Eye 2 Eye, who kept every square inch of the dance floor covered with dancers the entire evening.
