Heart Health

An alarming statistic is that one in four American women will die of heart disease. Many women fail to make the connection between such risk factors as high blood pressure and high cholesterol and their personal risk of developing heart disease until it is too late. Although significant progress has been made, increasing awareness needs to be part of an on-going campaign to educate women.

Saints Medical Center is a proud participant in the Go Red for Women  campaign of the American Heart Association's nationwide movement that educates women about heart disease and celebrates the energy, passion and power of women to band together and fight this No. 1 killer of American women.

Saints also offers an annual health event just for women that features free health screenings. Entitled Saints Celebrates Women, Saints medical staff is on hand to assist women with heart disease risk assessment profiles. Workshops are offered throughout the day on such topics as Women's Heart Health. Click here to read more about the Celebrate Women at Saints event.
