Perimenopause/Menopause
In support of our mission to provide care throughout each woman's life span, the Saints Women's Center is committed to the promotion of healthy aging. Our gynecologists help women understand the body's changes during this phase of life.
For most women, perimenopause and menopause begins in the mid-4o's to mid-50's. During this time, a woman may experience no symptoms or a variety of symptoms as her body adjusts to changing hormone levels. If you are age 40+, you may already be feeling some changes in yourself.
Changes accompanying menopause can be predictable and natural. However, when estrogen production begins to wind down, some women may feel as though they are riding an emotional roller coaster of moodiness, irritability and discomfort. There are symptoms that occur that may be physically uncomfortable and emotionally stressful. Many of these symptoms can be helped through good eating habits and regular exercise.
Our providers offer caring and compassionate care for women experiencing the hormonal effects of the peri- and post-menopausal years. They will partner with you to provide appropriate therapies to ease the transition. Individual treatments and therapies are best determined based on each woman's age, overall health and medical history.
