Pastoral Care and Spiritual Support

At Saints Medical Center, we value the whole person, body, mind and spirit. Therefore, we place a high priority, not only on the physical, but also on the emotional and spiritual needs of our patients. To respond to these needs, Saints provides chaplains certified by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains to assist patients during their hospitalization. Our Chaplains work closely with nurses, physicians, social workers and others involved in patient care. They provide supportive counseling and care to patients, families, and staff who are emotionally distressed, struggling with religious/spiritual/ethical issues, or who are requesting a specific religious rite or ritual. A person's spirituality is often what patients rely upon and use to help them cope with their illness or suffering. The Chaplain is available to provide objective crisis intervention and competent spiritual support.
