The Greater Merrimack Valley Heart Walk

Saints Medical Center and Heart Walk Chair, Michael Guley, Saints President and CEO, in partnership with the American Heart Association, hosted the second annual Greater Merrimack Valley Heart Walk on Saturday, October 4, 2008. Saints employees, families and friends, joined the nearly 2,000 participants from Greater Lowell and the Merrimack Valley on the banks of the Merrimack River to walk a 1 or 3 mile course for heart health! Events throughout the day, including the opening ceremony, live entertainment, and the many exhibit tents, added to a successful, picture-perfect day! To date, the Heart Walk has raised over $210,000 and this number will continue to grow through year's end. Saints is passionate in its commitment to reduce disability and death from heart disease and stroke, this country’s number one and number three killers.

Through the Heart Walk and our community education efforts, we hope to increase awareness and generate enthusiasm in the community for making lifestyle changes that promote heart health.
