Patient Success Stories
For breast cancer survivor Mary Olsen, Saints offered the best care possible.
When Mary Olsen found a lump on her breast at age 55 her thoughts turned immediately to her own mother who died from breast cancer at 57. With the knowledge that heredity is a significant risk factor in breast cancer, Mary was devastated by the discovery.
Suddenly, as her world turned upside down, Mary had many important things to think about. The most important decision she would have to make as soon as possible was to choose the best place to receive care and begin the journey to recovery.
"I considered treatment in Boston and elsewhere, but I knew I'd get the best care possible at Saints Medical Center," said Mary.
Mary has high praise for Gini Powers, RN, and Ann Marie Cantwell, both members of the dedicated Saints Medical Center cancer team. "They told me they would take good care of me. From my very first visit they treated me as a member of a very special family," added Mary.
Leading the way in cancer care, Saints delivers extraordinary care in a professional, personalized, and compassionate environment. As Mary discovered, an experienced and compassionate staff skillfully combines proven diagnostic and treatment methods with leading edge technology to provide high quality clinical, emotional, and spiritual care close to home, including early detection, treatment, counseling, ongoing support and patient/family education.
Thanks to Saints Medical Center, Mary now enjoys good health and celebrates life every day with the highest praise for her new friends and extended family at the hospital's Center for Excellence in Cancer Care.
