Internship/Education Program

Saints Medical Center offers a Nursing Internship Program for nurses who have recently graduated from school and obtained state licensure. The program is open to new nurses seeking a variety of opportunities including: Medical Surgical, Critical Care and Emergency Department positions, as available within the hospital. The length of the program varies from 12-20 weeks depending on the specialty area of practice.

The Saints Medical Center Nursing Internship Program is designed to facilitate the transition of the newly graduated nurse from the student role to the professional RN role and to enhance the skills of a beginning level staff nurse who is confident and who provides competent and safe patient care.

The format of the program includes a combination of classroom, clinical laboratory and specific clinical experience. Classes and clinical experiences are scheduled to allow the new graduate nurse to develop skills, gain independence and build confidence under the supervision of experienced instructors and preceptors.

At the completion of the formal internship program, an opportunity to participate in a mentoring relationship with an experienced nurse is offered to each participant. The Mentorship Program is designed to support the new nurse through the crucial first year of professional practice.

Saints Medical Center is no longer accepting applications for the 2009 New Grad RN and LPN Program. We have completed the interview and selection process. Please keep us in mind as you progress in your nursing career.
