Privacy and Confidentiality

Saints Medical Center is committed to providing you with high quality health care and to forming a relationship with you built on trust. That means respecting and protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your medical information.

As a patient of Saints Medical Center, you have the right to privacy and confidentiality of your condition and status while at our Medical Center.

Our privacy practices follow all state and federal laws relating to patient privacy and confidentiality, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which require that we ensure patient confidentiality and the security of patient information at all times. As a result, our strict policies and procedures allow for the use and disclosure of your personal medical information only for the treatment, payment and health care operations related to your medical care.

All patients treated at Saints must provide written authorization  if we are to release health/medical information to your health insurance plan in order to process your claims or to another medical specialist to whom you have been referred who needs background information on your condition.

Any breach of patient confidentiality can result in serious consequences and strict penalties for Saints Medical Center and its staff. For answers to questions regarding the privacy of your medical records, please speak with your physician or to his or her staff representative.
