Star Employee of the Month - December

Fran can frequently be seen running to the Emergency Room, up to the patient floors and back down to help patients apply for financial aide.  In addition to interpreting, Fran gives directions, gets wheelchairs when needed, and answers general questions. Fran is often called to the Emergency Department Registration and Triage to interpret.  While there, she assists with bringing charts out back to the correct area, getting patients signed in, and finding out if family members can visit patients in the ER.

Fran’s compassion does not stop at the end of her work day. The bonds established while assisting patients and their families at Saints, extends beyond that. Fran is an active member in the Portuguese community and stays in touch with many families after meeting them at Saints. She continues to help them in any way she can, especially when an unfortunate illness or even a death occurs in their family. She will be there at a family funeral to comfort them with her support and compassion.

 Fran truly goes above and beyond and is certainly a Saints Medical Center STAR Employee!
