Employee Benefits
At Saints Medical Center, we strive to offer our valued employees a comprehensive benefits package. We constantly look for ways to improve our benefits offering while keeping the program affordable for all Saints employees. Full-time and part-time employees scheduled to work at least 24 hours per week are considered benefits eligible. Below is an overview of the benefits currently offered by Saints:
Medical Coverage
We offer all benefits eligible employees a choice of health insurance plans, HMO Blue New England or Blue Choice New England through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts so employees can choose the plan that best suits their needs and the needs of their family. Employees can elect individual, individual + 1 or family coverage. Deductions are taken bi-weekly on a pre-tax basis and the cost is hared by both the employee and Saints. Full-time employees who do not elect health coverage receive cash back.
Dental Coverage
We offer all benefits eligible employees the choice between a high and low dental plan option through Delta Dental of Massachusetts. Employees can elect individual or family coverage. Deductions are taken bi-weekly on a pre-tax basis and the cost is shared by both the employee and Saints. Full-time employees who do not elect dental coverage receive cash back.
Vision Coverage
All benefits eligible employees have the opportunity to enroll in a group vision plan provided by VSP. Employee can elect individual, individual+ 1 or family coverage. Deductions are taken bi-weekly on a pre-tax basis and coverage is fully paid by the employee.
Life Insurance
Saints provides all benefits eligible employees with basic life insurance at no cost. In addition, employees have the option to purchase additional basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance. The cost to purchase additional insurance is based on age and amount of insurance purchased and is fully paid by the employee.
Disability Coverage
All benefits-eligible employees have the option of purchasing short-term disability insurance. Coverage begins after the 14th day of an illness or accident and provides a weekly benefit of up to $750. Cost is based on age and amount of coverage and is fully paid by the employee. Saints provides all full-time and part-time exempt employees with long-term disability which provides a monthly benefit of 60% of salary after a 90-day elimination period.
Flexible Spending Accounts
All benefits eligible employees have the opportunity to enroll in the Healthcare and/or Dependent Care flexible spending accounts. All deductions are taken on a pre-tax basis up to a maximum of $4,000 annually for healthcare expenses and $5,000 annually for dependent care expenses.
403(b) Retirement Savings Plan
Saints offers all employees including those who work less than 24 hours per week and per diem, the opportunity to save for retirement through a 403(b) savings/investment plan administered by ING.
Tuition Reimbursement
Saints provides tuition reimbursement for all benefits eligible employees after 90 days of employment. Tuition reimbursement amounts are variable, based on bi-weekly scheduled hours, up to a maximum of $1,000 each fiscal year. Classes must be job related or required as part of a degree program.
Earned Time
Saints provides all employees regularly scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week with earned time, a paid time-off program, which can be used for vacation, personal needs, illness and holidays. Earned time is accrued on a bi-weekly basis based on length of service and status. Employees can accrue up to a maximum of 200 hours.
Employee Assistance Program
The EAP is a voluntary, short-term counseling benefit and referral service designed to help employees and their immediate family members with everyday issues that may be interfering with work and daily life. All services provided by the EAP are free of charge and are strictly confidential.
